This first edition of this painting by Jack Magnus McDonald of the Christchurch Cathedral was a break out moment. It won the Zonta Youth Art premier award and gained the artist some valuable recognition. A second painting was commissioned which is what you see above. It is similar to the first but is also unique in many ways. It uses spray paint and acrylics to portray the cathedral; what it used to be and what is left of it.
